Fire Tune Of The Day Featuring Anderson .Paak, J Balvin, Ebenezer & Jay Rock

Today’s bumper selection consists of all the recently released tunes from this past Friday that have gone straight into my playlist rotation! So let’s get into the fire tune asap!

Anderson .Paak – Bubblin

Anderson .Paak’s finally dropped his first solo single since dropping 2016’s critically acclaimed Malibu album which catapulted him into superstardom. I’ve always been a huge fan and I honestly can’t get Bubblin out of my head. I’m expecting an album rollout to be announced soon but in the meantime, enjoy the fire tune below

J Balvin – Dóndo Estarás

J Balvin released his latest single Dóndo Estarás off his forthcoming 4th studio album Vibras which drops this Friday. The album includes the global hit Mi Gente and if this latest single is any indication of what to expect then we are in for a treat! I’m fully on the J Balvin latin wave and I’m looking forward to the album dropping. Enjoy the fire single below in the meantime

Ebenezer – When I Call Em Ft. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie

UK artist Ebenezer released his latest single When I Call Em featuring New York emcee A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and it’s one hell of a vibe. I’ve previously paid attention to his earlier releases but none of them hit me quite like this record has. It’s a bop and a half and in all honesty, everyone needs to listen to this record. Listen to the fire tune below

Jay Rock – WIN

TDE rapper Jay Rock released his first solo single since releasing his sophomore album 90059 in 2015 called WIN and the record literally depicts its title. WIN features Kendrick on backing ad-lib duty and I can already seeing this being my good energy record of choice whenever I need to get amped up to do a task over the coming months! I’m sure an album is in the works but we’ll we wait for updates, enjoy the banger below!

Fire Tune Of The Day: Lil Baby – Yes Indeed Ft. Drake

You know it’s a great day when there’s a new Drizzy verse for our ears to get excited about and that is exactly what today is with Yes Indeed, which is the brand new record by Atlanta rapper Lil Baby. The GOAT himself Drizzy delivered yet another outstanding verse on here and I’ve honestly wheeled the record up at least 30 times in the past 24 hours! Listen to the song, which premiered on OVO Sound radio this past Saturday below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Ty Dolla $ign – Clout Ft. 21 Savage x BBK – Athlete Ft. Goldie1

Athlete was the original fire tune for the day but Ty Dolla $ign dropped a fuego tune earlier today so a double- serving is the order of the day

Ty Dolla $ign – Clout Ft. 21 Savage

Ty Dolla $ign finally released his first official solo single today titled Clout featuring 21 Savage. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate Ty Dolla $ign especially for his ability to drop well-rounded LPs ($ign Language, Free TC, Beach House 3 to name a few) , that require no use of the skip button. However, this serves as his first release since dropping the well-received Beach House 3 late last year and points to another LP being in the works. 21 blessed Clout with a fire 16 and the result is one hell of a bop. Peep the fire tune below

BBK – Athlete Ft. Goldie1

Grime collective pioneers Boy Better Know released their surprise single Athlete over the weekend featuring the legendary Goldie1 on the hook. It’s a welcomed track and the first release as a group since dropping Detox on Skepta’s Mercury prize winning album KonnichiwaI personally love BBK and everything they stand for so it’s no surprise that this has been added to the playlist rotation. Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Kojo Funds, Rae Sremmurd (Swae Lee), GRM Daily, Skepta & Slowthai

I’ve got a bumper FTOD post for your listening pleasure today, so let’s get into it without any further ado!

Kojo Funds – Stallin’

The new Kojo Funds tune Stallin’ is everything and currently serves as my vibe of the summer! I literally can’t get the song out of my head. Kojo Funds just evokes a certain wave from his records & this follows the same pattern! It’s a fire tune by every account & this will be on rotation for a long while. Listen to the fire tune below

Rae Sremmurd (Swae Lee) – Touchscreen Navigation

Rae Sremmurd finally released the 3rd installment of their Sremmlife LP series this past Friday and the world is a better place as a result. The unique 3rd album sees both artists collaborate on the first 9 tunes off the album then embark on their solo projects (Swaecation & Jxmtro) over the next 9 songs respectively. As expected, Swae Lee stole the show on the album & Swaecation (one time for the title though!)  feels like it should be a stand-alone tape off pure vibes. As alluded to by a mate earlier, Touchscreen Navigation just makes you want to ride a whip with the woman of your dreams & just vibe out to the tune. Listen to SR3MMLIFE 3 here & listen to the featured tune below

GRM Daily – London’s Calling Ft. Skrapz, Avelino, Asco, Loski & AJ Tracey

GRM Daily did it yet again with their latest single London’s Calling featuring Skrapz, Avelino, Asco, Loski & AJ Tracey. The media house is shooting 100% from the field with every official single released so far. This record might just be the cream of the crop and in my humble opinion, AJ Tracey stole the show on this with his crisp 16 and fire footy reference as we’ve come to expect –

“Got my young strikers making names like Asensio”.

Skepta – Pure Water

Nigerian Eagle & Tottenham MC Skepta surprisingly released his latest single Pure Water yesterday and I’m here for it as expected. Skeppy’s always been one of my favourite UK MCs but the way he’s embraced his Nigerian roots over the past two years has raised my love for him up a notch! I’m convinced this record and it’s hook  ‘Pure water and lots of ice’ was inspired by his frequent trips to Nigeria as pure water is a common term in Nigeria and used to refer to cold water bagged up in small plastic bags usually sold on the motorway. Either way, it’s a bop and a half and I’m here for it. Listen to the fire tune below

Slowthai – Ladies

This song right here alludes to one of my primary reasons for starting the blog. I had no idea who Slowthai was 12 hours ago but my mate told me to check out this one song and I duly obliged so here we are. It is a banger and a half and just a brilliantly made rap record. I’ll definitely be checking for any & every forthcoming release from Slowthai off the back of Ladies,  it’s honestly that lit! Check out the visuals and fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: RAYE – Confidence Ft. Maleek Berry (Prod. by Nana Rogues)

Today’s FTOD is courtesy of RAYE, who dropped her incredible Side Tapes EP on Friday. The 6 track EP is littered with bangers, including previous hits Decline Ft. Mr Eazi & Cigarette Ft. Mabel & Stefflon DonThe EP saw her expand her sound even further and every track is literally a moment. Any song from the EP could’ve easily been today’s featured tune but I went for Confidence cause it just has that extra special sauce to it. Maleek Berry delivered a fire verse as we’ve come to expect & Nana Rogues continues to out-do himself in the production department. Listen to the EP here & peep the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Ms Banks, Wiley, Davido, JMSN & Post Malone

Got another bumper FTOD post for your listening pleasure today; enjoy!

Ms Banks – Clap

London rapper Ms Banks dropped her latest LP The Coldest Winter Ever this past Friday and it’s filled with heaters while also showcasing her versatility as a musician with rap, grime & afrobeat influences littered all over the record. However, my favourite song off the tape is easily Clap, which is one hell of a bop. Check out the LP here & listen to the fire tune below

Wiley – Over It

Grime originator Wiley dropped his latest album The Godfather II on Friday and after listening over the weekend, I’ve concluded that I prefer it to the prequel The Godfather which dropped last year. The album fuses multiple genres and sees Wiley spitting on both grime & rap riddims. Over It is my standout record so far as I’ve been unable to get the hook out of my head and the artist with the uncredited vocals deserve a moment for what he did to the song. Listen to the album here and check out the FTOD below

Davido – Assurance

Afrobeat superstar Davido finally let go off his latest release Assurance earlier this week and I expect this to blow up just like the vast majority of his discography. Assurance sees OBO profess his love for the primary lady in his life, while providing assurance to her that he’s in it for the long run. Check out the FTOD below

JMSN – So Badly

I’ve always been a casual fan of JMSN but I got particularly blown away by So Badly after hearing it on Joe Budden’s podcast where it was featured as a sleeper tune of the week. Press play and enjoy the greatness

Post Malone – Spoil My Night Ft. Swae Lee

Post Malone released his sophomore album beerbongs & bentleys this past Friday and it’s currently scheduled to have the highest 2018 1st week sales in hip-hop stateside so far. I’m a casual fan of Posty and White Iverson’s probably still my favourite record of his but Spoil My Night featuring the yung god Swae Lee definitely goes super hard and is easily my standout from the album. Check out the album here and listen to the song below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Chip, MIST, Hardy Caprio, Niska, Quavo & Stefflon Don

I’ve got a triple-threat serving for your ears today, so let’s get into it without any further ado!

Chip – Marijuana Ft. MIST

Chip’s always been one of my favourite UK rappers out and he finally released his first single of 2018 and it’s a banger as expected! It’s his first release since dropping League Of My Own 2which was easily one of my favourite LPs of 2017. Marijuana was produced by UK super producer Sevaqk and features a fellow fave of mine MIST. In a nutshell, this tune is such a vibe and hearing it being blared out from a woman’s car over the weekend pretty much increased my gas levels towards this tune. Listen to the banger below

Hardy Caprio – Naij

Blog favourite Hardy Caprio dropped his latest single Naij last week & it’s a vibe as expected. As a Nigerian myself, I had to check out the record and it’s safe to say Caprio did it again. I’m not sure what the goat in the artwork & video symbolises but let the young upcoming superstar rock! Listen to the fire tune below

Niska – Réseaux Ft. Quavo & Stefflon Don

Niska‘s a French rapper who I had no previous knowledge until this past Friday, when I stumbled on his remix featuring Quality Control’s own Quavo & Stefflon Don and my ears were immediately impressed! I played the track multiple times over the weekend & my twin brother was super gassed by the song and requested multiple wheel ups and I knew it had to be featured on the blog! Fire Tune Of The Day: Janelle Monáe – I Like That

Janelle Monáe dropped her third album Dirty Computer this past Friday to rave reviews so far and it also provides today’s FTOD selection. I Like That was released earlier in the week as the LP’s final promotional single and it’s a beauty to say the least. Check out the incredible album here & the featured tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: The Internet – Roll (Burbank Funk)

Today’s FTOD is the brand spanking new single Roll (Burbank Funk) from LA collective The Internet. It is the band’s first release since their critically acclaimed 2015 album Ego Deathwhich featured the incredible GIRL produced by Kaytranada. New music from the group has been a long time coming as members Syd & Steve Lacy dropped solo projects last year, so I’m particularly excited by this release and how funky (I couldn’t resist) it sounds. Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Nines, J. Cole, Ramz, Khalid & Young Thug

Today’s FTOD post is a heavy hitter and includes standout records from my top 2 LPs of 2018 so far – Nines’ Crop Circle J.Cole’s KOD, which both dropped last week Friday. Nines’ Crop Circle is a well-rounded body of work and is up there with the best UK Rap albums to drop in a minute. It’s easily my favourite album at the moment & the featured fire tune Rubber Bands is a particular standout with RAY BLK delivering a monstrous hook to go alongside Skrapz stellar guest verse.

As for J.Cole, KOD was a much better first-listen experience for me compared to 4 Your Eyez Only and I seem to enjoy the album more with every listen. Picking a standout record was difficult but Motiv8 just shades it for me.

UK rapper Ramz, released his third single titled Family Tree and it’s easily his best effort since his debut single Barking, which peaked at no 2 on the Official UK Singles Chart. The hook is almost impossible to get out of your head after 2 listens!

US teen superstar Khalid released his latest gem this past Friday OTW featuring fellow R&B heavyweights Ty Dolla $ign & 6LACK. Honestly, the song is incredible and that’s all that needs to be said!

Young Thug showcased his genius yet again with the infectious Anybody featuring Nicki Minaj. The release was part of a 3 track EP Hear No Evil but is the standout record for me and has been on constant rotation for a hot minute now.

Nines – Rubber Bands Featuring RAY BLK & Skrapz

J. Cole – Motiv8

Ramz – Family Tree

Khalid – OTW Ft. Ty Dolla $ign & 6LACK

Young Thug – Anybody Ft. Nicki Minaj
