Fire Tunes Of The Day: Kojo Funds – Check Ft. RAYE x Keys N Krates – Music To My Ears Ft. Tory Lanez

Kojo Funds released his brand new single Check featuring fellow Londoner RAYE on Friday & it’s a hit to say the least. The previously featured East London MC has carved out a special lane on the scene since growing in prominence at the back end of 2016 for crafting Afro Swing bangers, which borrow elements from Afrobeats, Grime & R&B to name a few. Check is one of those records that I expect to dominate the airwaves throughout the year as it’s tailor-made for the clubs & also features an unmissable sample from Craig David’s timeless smash 7 DaysPersonally, it’s also the best record I’ve  heard featuring RAYE’s vocals since she came into mainstream prominence last year & she really showcased her full vocal arsenal on the song.  Peep the future smash below

New Tory Lanez music also dropped this Friday & he’s got yet another smash on his hands. He supplied his vocals to electronic music duo Keys N Krates, who released their latest album Cura on February 2nd featuring Ambre Perkins, Ouici, 070 Shake & Tory Lanez on today’s other FTOD feature. Music To My Ears is such a beautiful dance record & Tory’s midas touch just takes it to another level in my opinion. Check out the featured tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Burna Boy, Migos, Octavian, Mist, SiR & One Acen

Massive apologies for not posting any bumper tunes over the past week, so I’m here to make it up to everyone by dropping SEVEN heaters for your listening pleasure. Let’s get into it

Burna Boy – Ph City Vibrations

Burna Boy finally released his long-awaited 3rd studio album this past Friday Outside via Atlantic Records. Since releasing his debut studio album L.I.F.E in 2013, which included hit records like Like To Party & Tonight, Burna has seen his star continually rise year on year with each release as either the lead or featured artist. He followed his debut album release with 2015’s On A Spaceship, which included the timeless banger Soke & one of my personal faves Rizzla. The new album Outside showcases all the elements of Burna’s artistry in his best form & shows why he’s one of the go-to afrobeat superstars. The album features an impressive arrray of songs, which should cross-over well in the UK market but also contains records that are true to his PH roots like my favourite afrobeat song of all time Rock Your Bodywhich forms part of the 12-track album. Lily Allen & J Hus (on the previously featured Sekkle Down)  also serve as the only features on the LP. My favourite tune barring Rock Your Body has to be Ph City Vibrations. It’s so good that I’m even intrigued & more receptive to the idea of visiting the city one day. Check out the Outside album here & peep the fire tune below

Migos – Walk It Talk It Ft. Drake / White Sand Ft. Travis Scott, Big Sean & Ty Dolla $ign

Migos dropped the long-awaited sequel to their Grammy-nominated & platinum-selling 2nd studio album Culture this past Friday. The aptly titled Culture II album features an incredible 24 songs & feels like a double LP in all honesty. I think it’s a good album but not at the same level sonically as the prequel. That being said, the album is still littered with a number of gems, as you’d expect based on the law of percentages; 11 by my count. I settled on featuring two songs on the tape cause I couldn’t decide between them. Walk It Talk It is a braggadocious nod to taking action over saying shit, which we can all relate to & features a 16 by the 6 god, Drizzy. The 2nd featured tune is the Wheezy-produced banger White Sand. The record features Travis Scott, Big Sean & Ty Dolla $ign, who are all favourites of mine & the resulting tune is a hazy banger with a brilliant hook & fire verses to match from all 3 of them. Check out Culture II here and sample the featured tunes below

Octavian – 100 Degrees Ft. Sam Wise

Rave of the moment Octavian dropped his second official single via Drilla Records on Friday. The French-born & South London raised MC made a big impression on the rap world at the back end of 2017 with his excellent single Party Here, which casted the spotlight on him as an MC to look out for & culminated in a feature spot on Drizzy’s OVO Sound Radio which took the hype level surrounding the MC to another notch. At this point in time, Octavian looks like a great hope for the UK rap scene and I can only hope that he makes good on all this early promise! For now, he’s shooting 2/2 from the field so enjoy the sophomore single featuring Sam Wise below

Mist – Game Changer

Birmingham MC Mist dropped his first single in over 10 months titled Game Changer this past Friday. Mist has emerged as one of my favourite MC’s on the UK scene over the past 15 months or so. His style is unique & the chemistry he’s got with producer Steel Banglez is undeniable. The record serves as the first single off his soon-to-be-released Diamond In The Dirt EP. Look out for the tape’s release date & peep the crisp visuals below

SiR – War

TDE signee SiR released his first official project through the legendary label November just under two weeks ago & it’s a beautiful body of work to say the least. The 11-track LP is a great intro into one of the newer members of the label alongside Lance Skiiwalker. I personally really enjoyed the tape & it served as my first real sample of the Inglewood native’s music. The featured record below War is my fave from the tape & I’ll definitely be keeping tab on all his future releases! Peep the tune below

One Acen – Vice Versa Ft. WSTRN

UK rapper One Acen came through with a brand new fire tune last week Friday titled Vice Versa. The rapper gained mainstream notoriety with last year’s Verified. Vice Versa is an impressive party record featuring the resurgent group WSTRN, who seem to be slowly building their profile back up after a few legal mishaps involving a group member last year.  In layman’s terms, this is a banger & I expect this to gain traction in the clubs over the coming months. Enjoy the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Dave East – Woke Up Ft. Tory Lanez

Today’s FTOD is courtesy of Harlem rapper Dave East, who dropped the sequel in his Paranoia mixtape series P2 this past Friday via Mass Appeal & Def Jam Records. The MC continues his trend of dropping a full body of work annually since his Hate Me Now debut in 2015. His reputation as a hard-hitting rapper who focuses on the bars continued on P2 but the body of work also contains the go-to radio single, which is today’s featured tune Woke Up featuring Tory Lanez. His previous mixtape Paranoia included the radio friendly record Perfectwhich featured Chris Brown and I expect Woke Up to potentially match & maybe even surpass the success of Perfect. Tory Lanez also absolutely bodied the hook as we’ve come to expect from him these days. Listen to the 16-track tape here & check out the FTOD below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Drake, Mabel, Justin Timberlake, SG Lewis, Tinashe & Leven Kali

You know it’s a good music day when there’s new Drizzy music & I’ve got 7 absolute heaters for your listening pleasure today! Without any further ado, let’s get into it

Drake – Scary Hours EP (God’s Plan & Diplomatic Immunity)

The 6 God aka Champagnepapi aka the GOAT surprisingly dropped two absolute bangers less than 36 hours ago and immediately changed the course of my weekend! Nothing gets me as excited as new Drizzy music & he definitely delivered in this particular instance. The two records are absolutely flames by every account & I’m a very happy man as a result. God’s Plan is the more bouncy record where he shouts out his right-hand men  & acknowledges the part played by them in him becoming the legendary rapper that he is.  Diplomatic Immunity is all about the bars & is the standout tune of the pair in my opinion, Drizzy blacked out on the song! The 6 god absolutely snapped and delivered an epic verse with this one. The release further backs up the expectation of a new Drizzy album this year and going off both songs, we’re in for one hell of a treat! Check out the Scary Hours EP below & enjoy the greatness

Mabel – Fine Line Ft. Not3s

This right here has to be one of my favourite songs at the moment (well since Friday lol). Mabel had one hell of a 2017 and solidified her name in the game with banger after banger including Thinking Of You & Finders Keepers Ft. Kojo Funds. She also lent her vocals to Not3s remix of his baging tune My Lover & this is one hell of a collaborative follow up. In a nutshell, Fine Line is a banger & a half and I expect this to dominate both the clubs & charts in 2018! Enjoy the fire below & watch out for Mabel’s debut LP sometime later this year

Justin Timberlake – Supplies

Justin Timberlake let go of the second single off his forthcoming Man Of The Woods album Supplies this past Thursday and if it’s any indication of what to expect from the LP, we are in for one hell of a treat. It’s safe to say my anticipation for the album has gone up a notch after listening to this & in all honesty, everyone needs to hear this banger. Listen below & look out for the album when it drops on February 2nd

SG Lewis – Aura Ft. J Warner

After a long hiatus from the music industry, SG Lewis came right back this Friday with his brand new single Aura. The record features J Warner & it’s an absolute banger and a half. I was intrigued to see what he was gonna do with this new single considering his long time out & I anticipated a slight change of direction, which we can hear on the song. However, the gamble paid off and we have a banger to enjoy for the forthcoming months before he drops a full body of work. Listen below

Tinashe – No Drama Ft. Offset

It’s been a long fucking time since we heard music from LA native Tinashe but it seems like 2018 is the year that we’ll finally get to hear Joyride, which has been in the works for the best part of 2 years. No Drama is a sultry sleeper banger featuring a 16 from Migos member Offset, who continues his trend of dropping A star calibre verses on every feature he’s on these days. Listen to the song below

Leven Kali – Do U Wrong Ft. Syd

California native Leven Kali released a brand new groovy tune this Friday titled Do U Wrong featuring the Internet’s own Syd. I’m eager to see how his artistry grows over the course of this year, especially after he gained mainstream traction in 2017, with a couple song releases including Yourswhich was featured on here & a standout feature on Flex off Playboi Carti’s self-titled debut mixtape. Enjoy the song below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Kali Uchis – After The Storm Ft. Tyler The Creator & Bootsy Collins

Kali Uchis dropped off her latest single After The Storm featuring Tyler The Creator this past Friday & it’s a heater to say the least. The record serves as the 3rd official single off the Colombian-American’s soon to be released debut album Fool’s Paradise. The song also features Bootsy Collins & was produced by Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD. Listen to the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Craig David – Live In The Moment Ft. Goldlink

Today’s FTOD is the brand new spanking tune Live In The Moment by Craig David. The song serves as the 3rd official single off his forthcoming The Time Is Now LP, which drops in exactly two weeks on January 26th & will be the UK singer’s 7th official album release. Goldlink also came through on the song with an expectedly fire 16, which we’ve come to expect from the DMV native, who also doubles down as one of my favourite rappers out. Listen to the fire tune below & be sure to check out the album when it’s out

Fire Tunes Of The Day: Maleek Berry – Own It x Sisi Maria

Maleek Berry finally released his highly anticipated First Daze Of Winter EP earlier today & I’ve listened to it 10 times already. It’s such an impressive body of work filled with six bangers in my honest opinion & Berry basically went all Steph Curry on us with this one cause he didn’t miss with any aspect of this EP. The entire project was also self-produced by the multi-talented artist & I already know that it will be on repeat for a while on my iPhone. As I alluded to earlier, I genuinely love all six records on it & picking a feature tune for today was a struggle and a half to say the least. I ended up not being able to decide between the featured tunes below Own It & Sisi Maria, so enjoy them both below and be sure to check out the official Vibes patron playlist on Apple Music or Spotify

Fire Tune Of The Day: Eminem – Chloraseptic Remix Ft. 2 Chainz & Phresher

Today’s FTOD is the timely remix to Eminem’s track Chloraseptic. The original song featured on Eminem’s ninth studio album Revival, which dropped just under a month ago in the middle of December to relatively lukewarm reviews from critics & fans alike but the official remix to one of the standout records from the tape should at least bring some reprieve to Eminem in the eyes of his fans. The record features the one & only 2 Chainz, who continues to rap his ass off and showcased his entire repertoire of skills on it, which resulted in an early verse of the year contender in my opinion. The song also features Phresher, who delivered a dope verse & Eminem also did his thing as well! Check out Em’s Revival album here & check out the FTOD below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Huncho Jack, Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Lil Uzi Vert, Kendrick Lamar, SZA & Justin Timberlake

Happy New Year to everyone who comes across this post. It’s my first official post of the year as I was in turn up mode in Lagos, Nigeria over the past few weeks but I’m back to supply the necessary fire to start the year off right. I’ve got 6 tracks for your listening pleasure today, which consists of recent releases & tunes I expected to share over the Christmas period. So without any further ado, let’s get into it!

Huncho Jack (Travis Scott & Quavo) – Go

Two of my favourite rappers out Travis Scott & Quavo, surprisingly released their long-awaited collaborative LP Huncho Jack just before Christmas on December 21st under the moniker Huncho Jack, which alludes to their respective nicknames (Travis Scott – Cactus Jack & Quavo – Huncho). The 13-track album showcases elements of both artists that we’ve come to love & has garnered relatively positive reviews so far. With both rappers prepping studio albums in 2018, the LP feels like it lacked the missing X-factor which both artists usually bring to their records & it felt like a collection of their favourite collaborative songs, which were dope but not quite right for their respective individual albums, so they decided to treat the fans. I personally like the album & there are 3/4 songs on it that automatically get me into turn up mode including the featured fire tune Go. All in all, it’s great to see artists collaborate together but I’m now looking forward to Astroworld & Culture II from Travis Scott and Quavo respectively because I expect both projects to be better produced & curated in comparison to this. It’s still an enjoyable listen, so check out the album here & listen to the fire tune below

Cardi B – Bartier Cardi Ft. 21 Savage

No one arguably had a better 2017 than Cardi B, who shot from Instagram/LHH fame to no.1 on the US Billboard charts, with the unmissable Bodak YellowThe music world’s been ready for the follow up to the monster jam & Cardi did not disappoint with the aptly titled sequel Bartier Cardi featuring the one & only 21 Savage. The Bronx native is definitely no one hit wonder & the record serves as ample proof. I fully expect the song to do damage in the clubs this year. Enjoy the record below

Bruno Mars – Finesse Remix Ft. Cardi B

Bruno Mars premiered the remix to Finesse off his 24k Magic album a few days ago featuring rave of the moment Cardi B. The track is a major nod to Cardi B whose recent but swift ascent in the music game has been nothing short of phenomenal & having a premiere artist like Bruno Mars request your vocals on a standout record remix is a major look, whichever you look at it. Listen to the fire tune below

Lil Uzi Vert – 20 Min

Lil Uzi Vert released the Deluxe version of his smash debut album Luv Is Rage 2 album towards the end of 2017, which included 4 additional songs including the featured tune 20 Min. Lil Uzi Vert had as good of a year as anyone last year, especially with XO Tour Llif3 turning into a smash hit by any measure. I like all the additional records but 20 Min just stood out a bit more for me. Enjoy the record below

Kendrick Lamar & SZA – All The Stars

Kendrick Lamar & Top Dawg are curating the official soundtrack to Black Panther & All The Stars serves as the first official single off the soon-to-be-released LP for the movie. In true TDE fashion, both artists brought their A game on this one & it proves to be yet another strong collaboration from the two artists, joining a list of Babylon & Doves In The Wind as certified classics in my personal music library. Look out for the movie & accompanying soundtrack when they’re both released but enjoy the lead single below in the meantime

Justin Timberlake – Filthy

Justin Timberlake announced his 5th studio album Man Of The Woods earlier in the week & let go of the lead single Filthy on Friday. It’s a refreshing & welcome return from one of Pop/R&B’s true greats & the album will serve as his first official release since 2013’s The 20/20 Experience double album. Man Of The Woods drops on February 2nd & I’m excited to hear what Mr. Timberlake has in stock for us. Enjoy the lead single below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Migos – Stir Fry

With Culture 2 expected to drop in the 1st quarter of 2018, Grammy-nominated group Migos released the 2nd official single off the album yesterday titled Stir Fry. The record was produced by the legendary Pharrell Williams & serves as the follow up to Motorsport, which featured Cardi B & Nicki Minaj who both came through with stellar verses on the record in my opinion. Stir Fry has raised my already high expectations for the album & I can’t wait to hear the full project. In the meantime though, be sure to check out the collab album Cactus Jack from Quavo & Travis Scott, which drops tomorrow and enjoy the fire tune below
