Fire Tune Of The Day: Migos – Stir Fry

With Culture 2 expected to drop in the 1st quarter of 2018, Grammy-nominated group Migos released the 2nd official single off the album yesterday titled Stir Fry. The record was produced by the legendary Pharrell Williams & serves as the follow up to Motorsport, which featured Cardi B & Nicki Minaj who both came through with stellar verses on the record in my opinion. Stir Fry has raised my already high expectations for the album & I can’t wait to hear the full project. In the meantime though, be sure to check out the collab album Cactus Jack from Quavo & Travis Scott, which drops tomorrow and enjoy the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Brockhampton, Juls, SZA, Jeezy & MC Fioti

Special 5-track fire tune of the day serving for your listening pleasure today

Brockhampton – Bleach

California-based music collective Brockhampton released the 3rd & final installment of their Saturation LP series this past Friday & it’s a heater to say the least. I always intended to listen to the 1st & 2nd installment of the series, which both dropped earlier this year but never quite got round too it. However, I bumped the shit out of Saturation III on Friday & would now consider myself to be a fan. The album is littered with incredible tracks & it’s a great listen by any measure. It also gives a great indication of the collective’s overall sound & anyone who stumbles across this needs to check it out. Bleach is my current standout & has gone straight to the top of my personal playlist. Check out the featured FTOD below

Juls – Your Corner Ft. Nonso Amadi

British-Ghanaian producer Juls released his latest EP Ojekoo this past Friday & it’s a very dope body of work. The tape serves as the follow up to his Leap Of Faith EP  which dropped earlier this year to rave reviews & included the hit song Bad featuring Not3s, Kojo Funds & EugyThe new tape includes features from Adekunle Gold, Moelogo & Burna Boy to name a few. Listen to the EP here & check out the fire tune below

SZA & Calvin Harris – The Weekend (Funk Wav Remix)

Calvin Harris let go of his Funk Wav remix to SZA’s Grammy nominated song The Weekend on Friday. The track follows a similar theme to Calvin’s summer album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. It’s a very enjoyable remix to the already stunning original song & should translate to dancefloors over the coming months. Listen to the song below

Jeezy – American Dream Ft. J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar

Jeezy released his 8th studio album Pressure this past Saturday to good reviews. The snowman recruited a host of features for the projecting including Kendrick Lamar & J.Cole who feature on the album’s standout record American Dream. Listen to the fire tune below

MC Fioti – Bum Bum Tam Tam Featuring Future, J Balvin, Stefflon Don & Juan Magan

Brazilian artist MC Fioti released the remix to his huge hit Bum Bum Tam Tam this past Friday. The record features Atlanta rapper Future, Colombian superstar J Balvin, UK sensation Stefflon Don & Spanish producer Juan Magan. The song’s main USP is the hook, which is  extremely catchy & hard to get out of your head once you hear it. Check out the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: A2 – From London With Love Ft. Thea Gajic

Disturbing London artist A2 released his debut album BLUE just under 2 weeks ago & it’s a heater to say the least. I’ll have to admit that I didn’t know who he was until last week when I stumbled across a post about the project. A friend of mine brought him up again & mentioned that it was a good listen, so I had to check the project out for myself & boy am I happy I did. He clearly has slight similarities to Bryson Tiller but I believe his sound is still unique & unlike anything that’s ever come out of the UK before. He’s signed to Disturbing London, which can be seen as a quality stamp of approval but the music does most of the talking on behalf of the Londoner. BLUE serves as an acronym for Before Love Undoes Everything & I urge anyone who comes across this post to check out the album here & enjoy the fire tune below.

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Odunsi, Burna Boy, J Hus, Wande Coal, Lily Allen & Giggs

With my current crazy schedule, I’ve resorted to dropping multiple bangers with each post more frequently &  today’s no exception. I’m off to Nigeria so I’ve found myself vibing to afrobeats more & more in preparation as I do every year. So without any further ado, let’s get into today’s selections

Odunsi – In The Morning

Rising superstar & alternative afrobeat (I just coined that) connoiseur Odunsi released In The Morning this past Friday & it’s such a banger of a tune. After rising to prominence earlier this year with Desire & his collaborative War EP with Nonso Amadi, the Nigerian native has definitely carved his own special lane in the afrobeats industry & he will be around for a very very long time. I’m excited to see what he drops next following this release cause it’s one hell of a song & his track record so far has been damn near impeccable. Listen to the fire tune below

Burna Boy – Sekkle Down Ft. J Hus

Burna Boy premiered his latest single Sekkle Down off his upcoming Outside mixtape on Beats 1 yesterday. The record features UK superstar J Hus & was produced by Jae 5, who shot to prominence with his work on J Hus’s debut album Common Sense earlier this year. The song’s also the second high-profile collab between the 2 artists following Good Time & is a heater to say the least. Burna Boy’s easily one of my favourite artists out & Rock Your Body, which dropped earlier this year might just be my favourite afrobeat song of all time, it’s honestly that good! Anyway, enjoy the fire tune below in the meantime, while we wait for the mixtape to drop

Wande Coal – Tur-Key Nla

Wande Coal’s back again with an afrobeat heater just in time for Christmas in Lagos. After tensioning the clubs last year with IskabaI fully expect this new banger to damage on the dancefloor. Listen to the Dapiano produced record below

Lily Allen – Trigger Bang Ft. Giggs

Lily Allen released her first single in 3 years earlier today & I’m so happy about that. The record features the Hollow man himself Giggs, who came through with a fire 16 to start the record off. I’ve been a big fan of her music ever since I saw her play at Wireless in 2010, just before Jay-Z’s headlining set & it’s refreshing to hear new music from her. I’ll definitely be looking out for Lily’s next moves following the release but enjoy the banger of a tune in the meantime below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Quality Control & Quavo – Hellcat

Atlanta label Quality Control released a 30-track compilation album this past Friday, which includes music from its marquee artists Migos & Lil Yachty plus a whole host of features from non-label artists including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Travis Scott, Kodak Black & Tee Grizzley to name a few. It’s admittedly a long-listen clocking in at over 100 minutes but it’s littered with gems & is well worth a listen if you’re a fan of the Migos. My current standout is Hellcat, which is a solo effort from the one & only Quavo. At this point, Quavo’s easily one of my top 5 rappers as he’s consistently dropped or featured on fire release after fire release & his star power is currently at an all time high with no signs of waning anytime soon. Listen to the album here & check out the Fire Tune Of The Day below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Big Sean & Metro Boomin – Savage Time Ft. Travis Scott

Detroit’s own Big Sean & St. Louis native Metro Boomin dropped their recently announced surprise album Double Or Nothing earlier today & I’ve had a great day as a result. Big Sean’s one of my favourite rappers out & he’s been criminally slept on for a long time even though he keeps on serving heat again & again. In my opinion, he’s up there with Drizzy, Kendrick & Cole when it comes to the bars but for some reason it’s not a widely shared opinion. After collaborating on the platinum-selling Bounce Back off Sean Don’s platinum certified 4th studio album I Decided earlier this year, the duo clearly felt that their chemistry was great enough to warrant a full length project, which has now resulted in Double Or Nothing. Metro Boomin has been steadily killing the rap game over the past 4 years with consistent fire production & recently accounted for 10% of the Billboard Top 100 (he’s that amazing) & the new album adds to his arsenal of production gold. The 10-track LP is littered with fire features from Travis Scott to Detroit’s own Kash Doll, who I initially mistook for Jhene Aiko because she went so brazy with the sultry bars on So GoodI still need a couple more listens to know where I rank this album but my ears have had a great day based off my first few listens. Travis Scott also came through with a short but fire feature at the back-end of today’s FTOD. Listen to the album here & check out today’s featured fire tune of the day below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Trippie Redd – Dark Knight Dummo Ft. Travis Scott

Today’s FTOD is by Trippie Redd & my absolute fave Travis Scott! Not many things get me as excited as new music featuring Travis does. Dark Knight Dummo was a surprise release from the pair of artists this past Tuesday & the USP of the song is most definitely La Flame’s flamey verse! Listen to the FTOD below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Roy Woods, Miguel, Davido, Ajebutter 22, Maleek Berry, Miguel again & Joyner Lucas

Massive massive apologies for the lack of posts recently as I’ve been super busy with work & life but I’m here to redeem myself with all my favourite heat over the past fortnight so let’s get into it without any further ado

Roy Woods – The  Way You Sex

Roy Woods finally dropped his long-awaited debut studio album Say Less this past Friday and it’s a heater! I’m in love with the album & I currently find no song skippable. Choosing a feature tune off the album was a struggle between Something New The Way You Sex but the chosen song is currently stuck in my head so here you go. I urge everyone to check the album out here & check the album out below

Miguel – Banana Clip

Miguel finally released his long-awaited 4th studio album War & Leisure and the real Miguel is back baby! The album is everything I expected & it brought my expectations of him back to post-Kaleidoscope dream Miguel levels. The music universe is a better place as a result of this album & it’s honestly a very impressive body of work. Choosing a feature tune on here was a struggle as it could’ve easily been Criminal Ft. Rozay, Told You So or even Caramelo Duro featuring Kali Uchis. However, Banana Clip is my current fave, which gives it the edge and I’m sure you’ll all be pleased with my choice. Listen to the album here & the FTOD below

Davido – Like Dat

Davido’s currently experiencing Steph Curry’s levels of efficiency in 2017. He’s already supplied us with 3 absolute bangers including If, Fall & Fia. OBO has followed them up with the incredible Like Dat. Efficiency like this in the music in the music industry must be celebrated & Like This is yet another super banger to add to the collection. Surely OBO’s 2nd second studio album must be in the works & close to a release but enjoy this wonderful tune below

Ajebutter 22 – Anything For The Boys Ft. Odunsi

Vibes Patron regulat Ajebutter 22 finally released his long-awaited sophomore studio album just over a week ago. For someone holding a day job outside music, his output and dedication his craft is admirable & very impressive. What Happens In Lagos is a very impressive body of work and showcases 22’s full range as a rapper. Listen to the album here & listen to the FTOD below

Maleek Berry – Pon Mi Mind

Berry’s had as impressive a year as almost any other afrobeat artist out there. Since garnering attention as a producer with credits on Wizkid’s The Matter, the British-born Nigerian artist has expanded his repertoire as an artist especially after the release of the infectious Kontrol. Maleek Berry has found his sound and I expect him to be here for a while. Listen to his  latest fire single Pon Mi Mind below

Miguel – Come Through & Chill Remix Ft. J.Cole

(Intended previous post: wrote on November 30th) Miguel’s 4th studio album War & Leisure drops tomorrow & I feel like a legitimate comeback is on the way, especially after hearing Sky Walker featuring the one & only Travis Scott. I believe Miguel suffered from the success of Kaleidoscope Dream & tried to replicate the formula on Wildheart but it failed to connect with fans on the same level. However, the American seems to have bounced back and every single release from the upcoming album has been fire. As we await the full project, the Come Through & Chill remix featuring J. Cole was dropped for our listening pleasure & it is lit! Listen to the fire tune below

Joyner Lucas – I’m Not Racist

This song right here requires litte introduction. Joyner Lucas is an amazing rapper who my mate put me into a few months ago. The song touches on all the uncomfortable elements of racial tension that can be avoided from time to time. Please just listen & enjoy the introspective tune below.
