Fire Tune Of The Day: CyHi The Prynce – I’m Fine Ft. Travis Scott

Today’s FTOD is by G.O.O.D. Music rapper Cyhi The Prynce. The MC finally released his long-awaited debut studio album No Dope On Sundays this past Friday to very postive reviews so far. After gaining prominence through his work on various G.O.O.D. music releases, including a fire verse on Kanye’s So Appalledthe Atlanta native went through label issues amongst other things, which made him fly under the radar for the proceeding years. However, he’s finally sorted out his label situation & is in a good place, considering he just released his album & is currently on a nationwide promo run Stateside. The album’s a good body work but the standout record for me has to be I’m Fine, which features my 2nd favourite rapper/musician in the world Travis Scott aka La Flame. In all honesty, the USP of this tune is the hook, which was absolutely obliterated by Travis & he also dropped a fire verse for good measure. Listen to the album here & check out the featured tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Roy Woods – Say Less

Today’s FTOD is Say Less by OVO Sound artist & Brampton native Roy Woods. I’ve been a fan of his music since he released his debut EP Exis in July 2015, which included the infectious Get You Good & Drama featuring his label boss Drizzy. I particularly love the fact that he tends to drop EPs whenever he releases any singles, which allows fans to truly understand his artistry & sound. He followed up Exis with the spectacular Waking At Dawn a year later & it’s my favourite body of work from him so far. The tape featured How I Feel & Gwan Big Up Yourself, which are still personal favourites of mine to this day. No one out sounds like Roy Woods & the surprise album release announcement has considerably raised my excitement levels. The album Say Less drops in just over week on December 1st but check out the fire title track in the meantime below

Fire Tune Of The Day: T-Pain – Textin’ My Ex Ft. Tiffany Evans

The original auto-tune god T-Pain provides today’s FTOD selection. The Florida native released his 5th studio album Oblivion this past Friday & it’s a very good listen. T-Pain had an unprecedented run between 2006 to 2010, dropping platinum singles such as I’m Sprung, Buy U A Drank & Can’t Believe It to name a few. He also reigned supreme as far as hooks go, featuring on so many hit singles including R Kelly‘s I’m A Flirt, Baby Bash’s Cyclone, Florida’s Low, Chris Brown’s Kiss Kiss, Kanye’s Good Life, Lil Wayne’s Got Money & Khaled’s All I Do Is Win to name a few. In a nutshell, T-Pain was the shit! His star power might not shine as brightly these days, but he’s still able to produce quality music for our listening pleasure & Oblivion showcases that. Textin’ My Ex is the best song on the album in my opinion & NY singer Tiffany Evans came through with a fire feature on the record. Listen to Oblivion here & check out the FTOD below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Not3s, Mr Eazi, Jaden Smith, Wizkid, Jae Stephens & Jidenna

Back again with a bumper post to cover the missed days over the past week. Safe to say I have a lot of heat to share for your listening pleasure today so let’s get into it!

Not3s – Intro/Crank It Up

London rapper/singer Not3s finally dropped his anticipated Take Notes EP via Relentless Records on Friday & it’s one hell of a tape to say the least. The tape includes hits; Addison Lee & Aladdin, which have both considerably raised his profile in the UK rap game over the past 18 months! The EP does a great job of showcasing the rapper’s versatility & overall sound. In a nutshell, there are no skippable tracks in my opinion & I highly recommend it to anyone who comes across this post. The double-sided intro track is my current fave as I’ve had it stuck in my head all weekend. Listen to the EP here & check out the featured fire tune below

Mr Eazi – Pour Me Water

Nigerian afrobeat superstar Mr Eazi finally let go of his latest single Pour Me Water, which he’s teased for over a month now & it’s thankfully lived up to expectations! It’s safe to say that the Leg Over crooner has yet another hit on his hands. Since taking the afrobeat world by storm last year, he has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down in 2017. He’s featured on records with everyone from RAYE to Crazy Cousins, got Major Lazer to rework Leg Over for the official remix featuring French Montana & was Apple Music’s featured Up Next artist for August, which culminated in an appearance on the Late Late show with James Corden. I expect this song to be in constant rotation over the next few months & I’m sure I will be turning up to this song in Lagos over Christmas. Enjoy the FTOD below

Jaden Smith – Icon

Jaden Smith released his debut album SYRE this past Friday & it’s unexpectedly brilliant to say the least. I never really took notice of Jaden’s musical talent until I heard his feature on Rich Kid’s Like This & although I’ve paid attention to his releases ever since, I was not expecting his debut album to be this fire. He’s grown immensely as an artist & SYRE is a testament to that. The album features A$AP Rocky & Raury and has been released via his own label MSFTSMusic, with major backing from Roc Nation. Icon’s the standout record for me & I was blown away when I initially heard the preview a few weeks ago. The song is a hit & hopefully this gets the traction it deserves in the various hip hop circles. Listen to the fire tune below

Wizkid & Mut4y – Manya

The original Starboy himself & titan of the afrobeats genre; Wizkid dropped a surprise single on Wednesday & we’ve got another hit to dance to as expected. The record features  Mut4y, who’s one half of the superstar production duo Legendury Beatz, who are responsible for a plethora of Wizkid bangersThe song was produced by Killertunes & the video was shot at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos. Enjoy the future banger below

Jae Stephens – Someone Else

While listening to a few tracks off Spotify’s New Music Friday UK playlist last week, I stumbled across this gem of a tune. After doing a bit of digging, I garnered that she’s an emerging LA based artist, who’s already honed her distinct R&B sound, which is evident on her first official single 24Kwhich was produced by UK producer Jam City. Someone Else is an incredible song, which will be in my personal music rotation for the foreseeable future & I believe she’s going to be here for a long long time judging off these two songs. Make sure you pay attention to her future releases & listen to the record below

Jidenna – Little Bit More Ft. Burna Boy

American-Nigerian Jidenna released his surprise Boomerang EP just over a week ago & it’s littered with bangers. It’s his first body of work since releasing his debut album The Chief  in February earlier this year. The Wondaland records artist did a great job of infusing afrobeat elements to his music, without losing his signature sound. The Little Bit More remix featuring Burna Boy’s my current favourite of the EP, although Boomerang’s a very very close second. Listen to the EP herecheck out the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Davido – FIA

Today’s FTOD is 4 days overdue as a result of my laziness, but this fire tune had to be shared with the world.

Afrobeats superstar, Davido dropped his third official single of the year FIA this past Friday & it’s an unbelievably lit tune to say the least. Davido can do no wrong this year after dropping the equally impressive hits If & Fall earlier in the year. The Nigerian native’s reaching Steph Curry levels of consistency with his releases, which can only be a great thing for the evolving genre as a whole. The song has already clocked over a million views on Youtube & will undoubtedly be one of the bangers of Christmas in Lagos & everywhere else where afrobeats is appreciated. This release suggests that an EP or LP’s probably in the works & we should expect it to drop at some point in 2018 but in the meantime, enjoy the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day: Burna Boy – Deja Vu x Ajebutter 22 – Wayward x Dice Ailes – Otedola

Today’s FTOD selections consist of 3 afrobeat bangers I’ve recently stumbled across, which are all fire & deserve to be highlighted. So without any further ado, let’s get into it.

Burna Boy – Deja Vu

Oluwaburna as he’s affectionately known released two singles earlier today titled Gba & today’s featured tune Deja Vu. Both songs serve as his first solo releases since dropping the incredible Rock Your Bodywhich might just be my favourite afrobeat song of all time (hot take alert!). Afrobeat connoisseurs need no introduction to his music as he’s consistently supplied hits for our ears over the past 5 years & is considered to be a titan in the industry. Burna has had a stellar 2017 as he’s supplied fire feature verses on J Hus’s Good Time, Rita Ora’s Your Song Remix & Mabel’s Finders Keepers Remix to name a few. He also has uncredited vocals on Drake’s Get It Together off his More Life playlist, which dropped in March this year. Deja Vu is yet another outstanding track by the Port-Harcourt native & I’m hoping that an album from the superstar drops sometime in the near future. Enjoy the fire tune below.

Ajebutter 22 – Wayward

Afrobeat artist Ajebutter 22 finally announced the release of his sophomore studio album What Happens In Lagos earlier today. The album drops on November 24th & I’m anticipating the project’s production to be dominated by Studio Magic as expected. After dropping the infectious Ghana Bounce earlier this year, he let go of the album’s second single Wayward last week & it’s one hell of a tune as expected. Like I mentioned in my previous post, Ajebutter continues to carve out his own unique lane within the afrobeats genre & his style is unmistakably his own. Enjoy the fire tune below & make sure you check out 22’s WHIL album when it drops in just over a fortnight.

Dice Ailes – Otedola

I’m going to get straight to the point with this final one! I found out about Dice Ailes through a What’s App music group that I’m a part of; shoutout to my g Lolu for the plug. Turns out that he’s signed to Chocolate City, which has been one of the most influential Nigerian labels of the past decade. The beauty of this song lies in the hook & it’s one hell of a catchy one.

“Otedola with the money….Jim Iyke with the love….Okocha with the balling…Maggi with the sauce”

Every Nigerian should get the message immediately as he celebrates some of our nation’s finest citizens from Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola to football god Jay-Jay Okocha. Peep the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Fabolous – Flipmode Ft. Velous & Chris Brown x Shaydee – Make Sense Ft. Wizkid

Dropping two FTODs to make up for not posting yesterday, so let’s get into it

Fabolous – Flipmode Ft. Velous & Chris Brown

This new Fabolous record is absolutely fire. The record was initially released 2 months ago but the recently released video, which dropped last week has taken the song to a whole new level in my books. Flipmode’s gone straight to no.1 on my personal playlist cause it’s so fire & the hook’s ridiculously catchy. Fab dropped the single in support of the 3rd installment of his Summertime Shoutout series, which should be dropping before the year ends & continues the New York rap legend’s tradition of releasing an album or mixtape towards the end of the year for the 7th straight year! (There Is No Competition 3: Death Comes in 3’s, The S.O.U.L. Tape 2, The Soul Tape 3, The Young OG project, Summertime Shootout & Summertime Shoutout 2). Music releases in general tend to slow down in November & December as the wider music world shifts their focus to Christmas albums, so I’ve grown accustomed to this releases from Fabolous & I’m super excited for Summer Shoutout 3, especially after hearing Flipmode. Velous does an incredible job on the hook & Breezy came through with a fire feature as expected. Peep the cameo filled video & stream the song below

Shaydee – Makes Sense Ft. Wizkid

506 Music artist Shaydee recently released the visuals to his bubbling smash single Makes Sense featuring afrobeats superstar Wizkid. This song right here is straight fire & it’s been on constant rotation since I initially listened to it a fortnight ago. I’m eager to see what Shaydee’s next move will be following this single but in the meantime, enjoy the fire tune below.

Fire Tune Of The Day: Big Sean – Pull Up N Wreck Ft. 21 Savage (Prod. by Metro Boomin)

Big Sean surprised the world & let go of his latest single Pull Up N Wreck this past Friday. The single was produced by Metro Boomin & features 21 Savage, who came through with yet another fire 16 and can currently do no wrong on wax. The record is Sean’s first solo release since dropping his platinum-selling 4th studio album I Decided in February earlier this year, which spanned the platinum-selling singles Bounce Back & Moves. It’s refreshing to hear new Sean music as he’s one of my top 2 favourite rappers out & I believe he is  continuously criminally slept on.  This probably indicates that a new full length release might be on the way from the Detroit MC at some point next year. Listen to the fire tune & stream the official Vibes Patron Spotify playlist below.

Fire Tunes Of The Day Ft. Dave, Offset & 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, And Skepta

This marks my 100th post on the website & shout out to everyone who’s checked out a post! Words cannot describe my gratitude & thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart as we approach 1,000 reads/views. So I’ve got a 3 track post for your ears to celebrate! Let’s get into it

Dave – No Words Ft. Mo Stack

So it’s just turned past midnight & the long awaited Game Over EP is finally here & you can stream it hereIn celebration of its release, Dave released the visuals to No Words Ft. Mo Stack a few hours ago & it’s litty as expected. I labelled the Streatham MC as the rap Kylian Mbappe in my last featured post on him & he keeps dropping heat to cement that opinion! Honestly, this young future legend of an MC is on one & I urge everyone to check his discography out in general & the new tape. Listen to the fire tune below

Offset, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin – Rap Saved Me Ft. Quavo

Offset & 21 Savage blessed the world with a surprise album Without Warning on Halloween featuring Metro Boomin on production! Literally nobody saw this one coming but we’re definitely happy the decision was made. The 10-track LP is littered with bangers to say the least. Metro held it down with production duties with help from frequent collaborator Southside & a few other producers including Cubeatz, Dre Moon & Bijan Amir. As for Offset! I don’t even know where to begin, no rapper has had a bigger ascent in the rap game over the past year in my opinion as he has consistently dropped fire verse after fire verse culminating in his superstar showing on this album, which ended any lingering doubt about his ability to shine on records without his group members. The chemistry between Offset & fellow Atlanta native 21 savage is undeniable, with 21 particularly shining on hook duties & solo records on the tape. In a nutshell, it is litty & you all need to check it out. Any one of the ten tracks could have been featured on here but I went with Rap Saved Me featuring Migos member; Quavo. We’ve been blessed with dope music all week & I urge everyone who sees this to check the album out here & listen to the featured tune below

Skepta – Still

UK grime legend & self-proclaimed Nigerian eagle Skepta dropped his surprise Vicious EP this past Tuesday on Halloween! If you didn’t already know, I’m a massive Skeppy fan to say the least & I’ve probably seen him perform way too many times to count at this point! Anyway, the Tottenham MC came through on the 6-track EP both with his lyrical content & on production as expected. The opening track Still is my current standout and showcases peak Skepta waxing lyrical about his success & status in the game. It’s a banger to say the least. Listen to the Vicious EP here & check out Still below
