Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Future and Young Thug, Krept and Konan, Heavy K, Majid Jordan & Dreezy

by Olu

Massive apologies for the lack of posts over the past week but I’m here to give you all a full serving of recent fire tunes to make up for it in full measure. Without any further ado, let’s get into it

Future & Young Thug -Patek Water Ft. Offset

Atlanta natives Future & Young Thug surprised the world this past Friday with the release of their joint mixtape Super SlimeyThe 13-track LP arrived at the perfect time to halt the recent slowdown of quality rap LP releases over the past quarter in comparison to the first half of the year. The standout record for me has to be the Offset-assisted Patek Water & there’s an argument for the Migos member having the best verse on the song too. Peep the fire tune below

Krept & Konan – Ask Flipz Ft. Stormzy

South London duo Krept & Konan finally released their highly anticipated double album/mixtape 7 Days & 7 Nights this past Friday.  The duo have been relatively quiet all year up until this point but it’s been worth the wait. 7 Days is the more uptempo tape & includes features from Stormzy, Skepta & J Hus to name a few. 7 Nights on the other hand, has a more laid back vibe and includes features from Jhene Aiko, Tory Lanez & Hudson East. After a few listens, I can say that both projects are banging & have been very well sequenced but I have to listen a few more times to see where they both stand in my album of the year ranks. Listen to one of the standout records Ask Flipz Ft. Stormzy below & make sure you check out the tapes in the hyperlinks above.

Heavy K – Inde Featuring Bucie & Nokwazi

I’m going to cut straight to the chase with this one. I watched a clip on South African rapper Cassper Nyovest’s Instagram stories last week Friday where he mentioned that this was his favourite house tune at the moment. Being the inquisitive music junkie that I am, I decided to listen to the song & boy was I impressed with what I heard. It’s been on repeat ever since & has shot up to the upper echelons of my personal playlist. After doing a little research, I found out that Heavy K’s a producer & DJ signed to Universal Music SA and he’s been a staple in the South African House scene since 2013, which is totally expected judging by this fire tune. Listen to the brilliant song below

Majid Jordan – Body Talk

OVO Sound’s Majid Jordan will finally release their sophomore studio album The Space Between this Friday (October 27th). The duo have released 4 singles in support of the album, including today’s featured Body Talk, which was released this past Friday. I have to admit, this particular song has amped up my excitement for the album & I can’t wait to listen to it when it drops. In the meantime, check out the FTOD below.

Dreezy – Spar Ft. 6LACK & Kodak Black

While sorting through official Apple Music playlists for new heat over the weekend, I stumbled across this absolute banger of a tune by Chicago rapper Dreezy. The record features Atlanta’s rave of the moment 6lack & Florida rapper Kodak Black who both bodied the record alongside Dreezy. The song is very politically charged but executed in a mellow & utterly sensational way. I don’t often come across spectacular songs when I go through official playlists but this definitely bucks the trend & I’m now excited to see what Dreezy does next with her career.
