So I’m dropping all the fire tunes I planned on posting over the past week or so but didn’t for some reason or the other. So please enjoy the long list of FTODs today & be sure to subscribe to the FTOD Apple Music playlist here or the Spotify version here
IAMDDB – More
This superstar in the making right here is Manchester MC/singer IAMDDB. I only recently got into her music but I’m definitely already a fully fledged fan at this point. She released her latest EP Hoodrich Vol.3 just over a week over & it is exactly what I promote on this blog…..straight fire! She has a very unique & distinct sound, which immediately draws the listener in for more while maintaining an aura of mystery at the same time. More is my standout tune off the tape & it’s been on constant rotation since the day my ears got blessed by her voice. Listen to Hoodrich Vol.3 here & check out the FTOD below
Wiz Khalifa – Something New Ft. Ty Dolla $ign
I’ve always been a casual Wiz Khalifa fan but every now & again, he’ll drop an amazing track that I immediately get hooked to and he has done just that with this new record. Something New is an amazing record, whichever way you look at it. The song features Ty Dolla $ign, who blessed the record with one of his best hooks in years & Wiz rides the beat with supreme confidence from start to finish. This record immediately puts you in a good mood & makes you want to vibe around people with good energy on a sunny day. It sounds like one of those records that the artist knew would take off the moment it was recorded & I fully expect that to happen with Something New. Watch the video or stream the FTOD below
Vanjess – Through Enough Ft. GoldLink
I still do not know who Vanjess is but I’m well versed in Goldlink’s artistry. The DMV native is no stranger to this blog & it’s fairly obvious that I love his music. I discovered this fire tune while digging through an Apple Music official playlist & I’m super thankful that I did just that. Vanjess delivered an impressive hook on this but GoldLink easily stole the show, with his inimitable flow ripping apart yet another dance instrumental. Check out the fire tune below.
Elli Ingram – Table For Two
Every now & again, scouring through official Apple Music playlists leads me to hidden gems I probably would’ve never discovered & Elli Ingram is that current gem. Table For Two is such a beautiful song, which showcases the British singer’s exceptional vocal range & impressive writing (it sounds very personal, so I’m assuming she wrote the song). I ended up checking out another single Better Alone off her Love You Really album & I was equally impressed. The album drops this Friday via Island Records & I urge anyone who comes across these words to check the LP out as I expect it to be incredible. In simple terms, Elli Ingram will be here for a long long time.
Jorja Smith x Preditah – On My Mind
So this was a prospective FTOD I intended to post ages ago but ill-discipline got in the way. I won’t write too many words about this fire tune as I’ve already covered Jorja Smith a few times on here & most readers might have already heard the tune. UK producer Preditah cooked up one hell of a saucy garage-influenced beat, which provided the perfect platform for Jorja Smith to work her magical vocals in & we’ve now got this banger of a tune to enjoy. This latest release highlights Jorja’s versatility in greater detail & adds to her growing legend. The 20-year old singer has shown an effortless ability to make chilled out R&B/neo-soul records, jump on a SA House tune with Drizzy, while also effortlessly collaborating on a dreamy record with Kali Uchis. Enjoy the special tune below (crank the volume up!)
Action Bronson – Let It Rain
Multi-talented rapper & Fuck That’s Delicious host Action Bronson finally released his 3rd studio album Blue Chips 7000 via Atlantic Records & Vice Records. The record sounds like what we’ve come expect from Bronson, with outlandish bars & impressively selected instrumentals to match. However, one particular record stood out for me titled Let It Rain simply due to the incredible instrumental that accompanies the song. The record sampled The Funkees 1970s afrobeat song Akula Owu Onyeara & the result is glorious. Check out the FTOD below.
