Fire Tune Of The Day: Miguel – Sky Walker Ft. Travi$ Scott

New Miguel music has been LONG overdue & the Adorn crooner finally released his brand new single Sky Walker featuring Travi$ Scott this past Friday. The record serves as his first official single since Waves was released as part of the promo run for his 3rd studio album WildheartMiguel is easily one of my favourite R&B singers out (if not my favourite) & this record has made me even more sure of my sentiment. Travi$ Scott comes through with a stellar & melodic verse as we have come to expect these days & Miguel’s 4th studio album announcement must be around the corner. Enjoy today’s FTOD below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Lil Uzi Vert – UnFazed Ft. The Weeknd

Budding superstar Lil Uzi Vert unexpectedly dropped his highly anticipated Luv Is Rage 2 project today & the world is a better place because of it. Uzi’s XO Tour Lif3 has dominated the airwaves stateside all year & anticipation for this tape hit fever pitch levels before today. Fire Tune Of The Day: Zac Samuel – Play It Cool Ft. Kyla

Today’s FTOD is by a producer I had never even heard of before until two days ago. I stumbled across this banger of a song while scouring Apple Music playlists for new fire tunes & I’ve had it playing in my head constantly since then. Turns out he’s a dance music producer from Brighton. One Dance featured artist Kyla soundtracked the record to perfection & I really do hope this song takes off cause it’s a heater. Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Gucci Mane, Yxng Bane, Chip, Stefflon Don & Dave East

Apologies for slacking with my posts over the past 10 days or so. I was out in Amsterdam for Appelsap festival & it’s taken me longer than usual to get back into my groove. A whole array of new music has dropped since my last post so I’ve decided to highlight 5 fire tunes to make up for the lost time.

Gucci Mane – I Get The Bag Ft. Migos

Gucci Mane surprised fans this past Friday by announcing his 11th studio album Mr. Davis, while also premiering the 2nd single of the project I Get The Bag featuring hip hop’s favourite group; Migos.  Since his release from prison in May 2016, La Flare has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down, churning out release after release like a man who’s desperate to make up for lost time in any & every way possible. Gucci has released SEVEN projects, including collaborative LPs with Zaytoven, Future & Lil Uzi Vert in the 15 months since his release and Mr. Davis serves as the follow-up to May’s Drop Top Wop, which was released collaboratively alongside super producer Metro Boomin. The 17-track album will feature Big Sean, The Weeknd, Schoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, Slim Jxmmi, Young Dolph, Ty Dolla $ign, Monica, Rico Love & Chris Brown who also handled hook duties on the lead single Tone It DownMigos absolutely bodied today’s FTOD, with Quavo once again providing another standout hook to add to his impressive collection. Yxng Bane – Rihanna

UK artist Yxng Bane has seen his stock steadily rise over the past 12 months primarily due to his hit Fine Wine featuring Kojo Fundswhich continues to enjoy steady airplay a year after its release. The Disturbing London artist recently released his latest single Rihanna, which is a fire tune by all accounts and will be in my personal playlist rotation for the foreseeable future. Listen to the fire tune below.

Chip – Confirmed

Chip finally released his highly anticipated third studio album League Of My Own II on August 11th to very positive reviews. It’s his best album to date in my opinion & automatically slots into my top 10 albums of the year so far; trust me it’s that good. Chip had previously released Gets Like That Ft. Ghetts , 34 shots & the summer standout Honestly Ft. 67,  as part of the album’s rollout but each song sounds even better as part of the album. The 17 track album, which debuted at no.12 on the Official UK album chart pretty much has no skippable records in my opinion & proves that the Tottenham MC is undoubtedly at the top of his game right now. Stream LOMO2 here & listen to one of the standout tracks Confirmed below

Stefflon Don – Hurtin’ Me Ft. French Montana

U.K. rapper Stefflon Don released her first official single since signing to Polydor records this two weeks ago titled Hurtin’ Me featuring Mr. Unforgettable French Montana. Stefflon Don initially burst onto the mainstream last year with the infectious Real Ting, which sounded like nothing I’d ever heard from a UK rapper before. It was braggadocious & catchy at the same time and provided a great introduction into her artistry for the casual listener. She followed that up by dropping the impressive Real Ting mixtape in December last year which included the afrobeat influenced Envy Us featuring Abracadabra. Hurtin’ Me shows off Stefflon Don’s versatility & I expect big things from here over the coming years. Listen to the fire tune below.

Dave East – Perfect Ft. Chris Brown

Recent Def Jam signee & East Harlem native Dave East released his debut studio album Paranoia: A True Story this past Friday, which includes the standout song Perfect featuring the hook connoisseur Chris Brown. I first listened to Dave East when a friend put me on to his Hate Me Now mixtape in 2015 and this man’s unique selling point is clearly his bars! I was very impressed with what I heard & he subsequently followed this up with Kairi Chanel in 2016, which is also the name of his daughter. He’s signed to Nas’ Mass Appeal label, which automatically enhances expectations regarding his pen game, which he continues to live up to and improve upon. Perfect marks an unexpected turn in his artistry & could potentially be seen as a strategy to make him more appealing to a female audience musically but the result is incredible & it’s one hell of a tune. Listen to the amazing FTOD below.

Fire Tune Of The Day: AJ Tracey – Blacked Out

Today’s FTOD is by one of my favourite MC’s out AJ Tracey. The Ladbroke Grove native continues to go from strength to strength with each new release and Blacked Out is no exception. After dropping the stellar record False 9 at the start of July, AJ has swiftly followed this up by announcing his new Secure The Bag EP & a 15-date nationwide tour to go along with it. Blacked Out serves as the lead single of the upcoming 8-track EP, which drops on October 6 & was produced by acclaimed grime producer Sir Spyro. It’s a hard-hitting record which showcases his versatility and uniqueness at the same time. I predicted that a new AJ Tracey project was on the way from my last post featuring him & I’m glad I was right on this occasion. Watch the crisp visuals & stream the record below.

Fire Tune Of The Day: Icarus – Trouble Ft. Talay Riley

Today’s FTOD is by Icarus featuring Talay Riley. To be honest, the moment I heard this song was the first time I ever heard of Icarus but what a damn introduction. This tune is fire by all accounts & it’s impossible to get Talay’s hook out of your head after multiple listens. Listen to the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Chip – 34 Shots

With Chip’s third studio album League Of My Own II dropping in 6 days, here is his latest single 34 Shots which also doubles up as today’s FTOD. Chip had previously released two absolutely fire singles titled Gets Like That Ft. Ghetts & the summer standout Honestly Ft. 67, which further raised expectations for the LP among fans. I personally cannot wait for the album, so stream the latest fire tune from Chip below & look out for the album which drops on August 11th.

Fire Tune Of The Day: Vic Mensa – Wings Ft. Pharrell Williams & Saul Williams

Vic Mensa provides the music for today’s FTOD. The Chicago native finally released his highly anticipated debut album The Autobiography on Friday & it’s received mostly positive reviews so far. The album feels like an ode to Chicago and very personal to Vic Mensa from the moment you press play. It’s not my favourite album of 2017 so far but I liked what I heard & expect Vic to continue to grow as an artist. That being said, Wings is the standout song on the album & will remain in the upper echelons of  my personal playlists for the foreseeable future. The song features the legendary Pharrell Williams, who also produced the record & Saul Williams. Listen to the album herecheck out the fire tune below
