Supplying the fire tunes on the regular

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Khalid, Ariana Grande, AJ Tracey, Odunsi, Ramz, Mahalia, Skepta, Trey Songz, Jevon, Lil Skies, Yung Fume, Dua Lipa, Jay Prince, Tiggs Da Author, Loyle Carner,J Cole, James Blake, Blueface, Burna Boy, Zlatan, Russ & Little Simz

It’s been way longer than anticipated since my last post, so I’ve counted up the days and I’ve got 21 fire tunes for your ears to make up for the time & in respect to Mr Savage. Every tune on here’s very deserving of its spot and they’re all currently on rotation in my personal February flames list! Enjoy the selections below!

Khalid – Talk

Khalid surprised the world this past Friday with this absolute gem of a tune! I mean he’s pretty much  been a fixture in the music world for the past two years since his debut single Location exploded. He’s followed it up with banger after banger, with OTW & Better serving as particular standouts for me. Talk might be my favourite song from the genius himself & my excitement ramped up even more prior to my first listen when I heard that Disclosure (also faves) produced the track. It’s shot up to no. 1 on my personal playlist and will probably stay there for the foreseeable future cause it’s honestly that good! In fact, it might be my favourite record of the year so far. Enjoy the fire tune below

Ariana Grande –  Break Up With Your Boyfriend, I’m Bored

My long-time guilty pleasure music-wise Ariana Grande has done it again. I’ve been a fan since I heard Baby I off her debut album Yours Truly & she’s just dropped her impressive 4th studio album Thank u, next on Friday to rave reviews so far. The making of the album was therapeutic for the superstar according to Apple Music following the death of her ex-boyfrind Mac Miller & the subsequent break up of her engagement to Pete Davidson. It’s safe to say she channeled a lot of her energy into this album and the 13 track album is honestly a great body of work. My personal favourite has to be the featured tune although it was a close call against Bloodline. Make sure you check out the album here and enjoy the banger below

AJ Tracey – Nothing But Net Ft. Giggs

Ladbroke Grove native & blog favourite AJ Tracey dropped his debut album this Friday and its safe to say he delivered big time on this one in my opinion. It continues to grow on me with every listen and Rina or Wifey Riddim Pt. 3 could have easily ended up as the featured track but I’ve opted for Nothing But Net due to Giggs’ stellar 16. Peep the album here and check out the fire tune below

Odunsi (The Engine) – Tipsy Ft. RAYE

Odunsi’s released the first follow up single since he dropped his stellar debut album RARE in the 4th quarter of 2018, which I immensely enjoyed and would put in my personal top 20 of the year. I also recently attended his sold out show at the Garage in North London & its safe to say The Engine’s star is firmly on the rise! Tipsy premiered on Beats 1 last week Wednesday following the sold out show & it features RAYE who added the missing fung-shway to the record! Peep the record below

Ramz – Hold You Down

Ramz released his first single of 2019 Hold You Down following his breakthrough 2018, where his debut single Barking peaked at number 2 on the UK charts. He’s followed that up with numerous bangers including personal fave Family Tree and Hold You Down shows that he will be here for a very long time as he’s got a particular penchant for catchy melodies, which can only be a good thing for his career. Enjoy the bop below

Mahalia –  Do Not Disturb

Mahalia’s steadily on the rise in the UK R&B scene and Do Not Disturb has to be my favourite record from her in a minute. I expect this to gain serious traction, so enjoy the fire tune below

Skepta – Wish You Were Here

Wiley kept taking subtle shots at Skepta & here’s the resulting dub, which i love way more than I should considering its a diss track & I’ve got love for Wiley. Honestly, it goes so hard and we all know Skepta’s flow is second to none on this side of the pond & here’s yet another exhibit. Enjoy the dub below

Trey Songz – Chi Chi Ft. Chris Brown

R&B crooners Trey Songz & Chris Brown teamed up for the former’s first release of 2019 Chi Chi. As it’s expected, its a tune and a half & I’m eager to see if this translates to the clubs over the next few months. I have a feeling Trey Songz might be prepping an album for this year but until there’s an official confirmation, enjoy the catchy tune below

Jevon – Lingo Ft. Kida Kudz & Diggy Simmons

UK rapper Jevon released this catchy bop of a record just under a fortnight ago featuring rave of the moment Kida Kudz & an impressive 16 from Diggy Simmons. Enjoy the resulting fire record below

Lil Skies – Name In The Sand

I personally usually shirk at the thought of listening to yet another ‘Lil’ and the jury was out for me on Lil Skies but after hearing his fire feature on Gucci’s Mad Russian last year, I began to warm towards the Pennsylvania rapper and Name In The Sand definitely serves as the sealer for me. I absolutely love this record and I think you would too. Listen below

Yung Fume – Islands

I honestly had never listened to a Yung Fume record prior to me hearing Islands just over a fortnight ago & Lord knows I’ll be checking on every subsequent release cause this right here is a vibe! Listen below

Dua Lipa – Swan Song (From Alita: Battle Angel)

Another one of my music guilty-pleasures Dua Lipa’s back again with yet another fire record! Honestly she can do no wrong in my eyes (Apart from performing lol) and Swan Song adds to her legend. It’s just a beautiful beautiful song! Enjoy below

Jay Prince – BLESSED NOW

Safe to say Jay Prince’s January EP WONDER meet & exceeded my expectations following my earlier post in the year highlighting BEAMLIGHT. BLESSED NOW easily surpassed BEAMLIGHT in my opinion once the album dropped and I believe everyone needs to hear this song! It’s that fire!

Tiggs Da Author – KINSHASA RIDDIM Ft. Blade Brown

Never listened to a Tiggs Da Author record before but this right here is a masterclass on how you get people to listen to your record with a monster hook. The hook on this sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard before and I’ve had it stuck in my head practically everyday since. Safe to say I’ll be checking for him going forward! Enjoy the song below

Loyle Carner – You Don’t Know Ft. Rebel Kleff & Kiko Bun

Loyle Carner has carved a special unwavering lane for himself in the UK rap scene & he’s going nowhere anytime soon. Following the immense success of his debut album Yesterday’s Gone in 2017, the London MC has spent subsequent time touring with new single releases few and far between. However, earlier this year, he surprised fans with his new single You Don’t Know which I’m a big fan of and its his first release since last year’s Ottolenghi featuring Jordan Rakei!  Enjoy the tune below

J Cole – MIDDLE CHILD

Jermaine Cole’s been busy in 2019 working on the 3rd installment of his Dreamville label’s Revenge of The Dreamers compilation series, which took the hip-hop world by storm due to the unique yellow invitations made for the 10 day sessions, which culminated in all invitees posting their invitation across social media. He preceded the year by bodying any & every feature verse in 2018 ending with alot off 21 Savage’s stellar 3rd studio album. MIDDLE CHILD served as his first single of the year and also sees the return of legendary Toronto producer T-Minus who had been on a multi-year hiatus. Enjoy the fire tune below

James Blake – Mile High Ft. Travis Scott & Metro Boomin

James Blake took the world by storm earlier in the year with the release of his 4th studio album Assume Form. It’s a good body of work although other people seem to enjoy it more compared to myself but there’s one record I can’t get out of my head; Mile High featuring Travis Scott & Metro Boomin. La Flame particularly shines on this with a ridiculously catchy bridge. Enjoy the tune below

Blueface – Thotiana

I stumbled across Blueface while catching up on Everyday Struggle earlier this year, with DJ Akademiks predicting he was on the verge of a big year as Thotiana was gaining traction in certain quarters stateside. It’s safe to say the record is well and truly on its way to being a global banger! Peep the tune below

Burna Boy x Zlatan – Killin Dem

Burna Boy & Zlatan premiered this absolote banger Killin Dem at the former’s sold out Boxing Day concert in Lagos. The song was subsequently released a few days after and gained traction immediately. However, the video premiered  fortnight ago and Killin Dem has graduated to become the go-to afrobeat hit record at the moment & I expect this to be in rotation throughout 2019 especially with the notoriously long shelf-life off afrobeat hits!

Russ – Gun Lean Remix Ft. Taze, LD, Digga D, Ms Banks & Lethal Bizzle

Drill MC Russ released arguably the song of the year Gun Lean late last year along with the viral dance that has quite on like a wildfire all over the UK. He followed it up earlier this year with a stellar remix line up and its safe to say, no one let themselves down on here. Listen below!

Little Simz – Selfish Ft. Cleo Sol

Little Simz is gearing up to release her 3rd studio album Grey AREA and her first full length release since 2016’s Stillness in Wonderland. Selfish serves as the lead single for the project and if this is any indication, then we’re aim for experimental greatness from the North London MC. It just might be my favourite ever record from the rapper and I’m super excited to hear the full album once its released later this year. Enjoy the record below

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Future, DMW, LION BABE, Casanova & Jay Prince

Last week’s New Music Friday served up a treat with loads of fire tunes to chose from. Here are 5 of my current faves constantly on rotation right now

Future – Unicorn Purp Ft. Young Thug & Gunna

Future just dropped his album The WIZRD this past Friday to rave reviews on the twitter streets and from critics alike. I personally love it & I honestly can’t get enough of it right now so I expect it to be on rotation for a while. Choosing a tune from the album was a tough one cause it’s littered with bangers but the fire features from Young Thug & Gunna swung it in the end for Unicorn Purp. Listen to the fire tune below and be sure to check out Future’s latest album here

DMW, Davido & Zlatan – Bum Bum

DMW head honcho Davido & afrobeat rave of the moment Zlatan connected so seamlessly on this record. It’s a bop and a half & I expect this to translate to the dancefloors of Lagos and London asap. Enjoy the latest song to perfect your zanku moves to below

LION BABE – The Wave feat. Leikeli47

New York city duo dropped off this absolute worldy of a tune this past Friday featuring Leikeli47. It’s clear the duo are prepping an album for later this year and if this is any indication then we’re in for a treat. Enjoy the fire tune below

Casanova – 2AM Ft. Tory Lanez & Davido

Roc Nation artist & New York native Casanova premiered his first release of the year 2AM last week and it’s a groovy one. Tory Lanez provides a stellar hook and verse on this while Davido also shines on the record. Listen below

Jay Prince – BEAMLIGHT

Jay Prince premiered the lead single BEAMLIGHT off his forthcoming WONDER EP on Friday. The record shows growth in his artistry and I’m excited to hear the final body of work once the EP drops this Friday. Enjoy the record below

Fire Tune Of The Day: A Boogie wit da Hoodie – Beasty

New York native A Boogie provides today’s FTOD Beasty via his 2nd studio album Hoodie SZN which dropped on the final music release Friday of 2018. He’s on course to spend a 2nd consecutive week at no.1 on the Billboard 200 and I’m personally beginning to appreciate his music a lot more. Beasty’s my favourite song off the album so far but that could change at any moment cause the album is honestly that fire. Peep the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Melii – HML Ft. A Boogie wit da Hoodie

Today’s FTOD is courtesy of bilingual afro-latina rapper & Harlem native Melli who I first came across on Wit The Shits (W.T.S) off Meek Mill’s recently released 3rd studio album ChampionshipsIt’s safe to say I was pleasantly surprised as she absolutely body bagged the record with her sensual & hard-hitting bilingual verse. HML serves as her first release of the year and it features A Boogie, whose album Hoodie SZN will peak at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Going by this song, I’ll definitely be following her career keenly as I expect a few more singles from her to follow later this year and an EP potentially. Listen to the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Kehlani – Nights Like This Ft. Ty Dolla $ign

New Music Friday definitely served up a treat today. Superstar R&B singer Kehlani surprised fans with a new single today titled Nights Like This featuring my personal favourite R&B artist of the past 5 years Ty Dolla $ign. It serves as her first release of any kind since last year’s non-album single AgainIt’s been almost 2 years since she released her awesome debut album SweetSexySavage and she followed the release up with the below tweet so it’s safe to say I expect a sophomore album later in the year. Enjoy the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day: Future – Jumpin On A Jet x 21 Savage – Out For The Night Part 2 Ft Travis Scott x Headie One – 18HUNNA Ft. Dave

We back baby! For good this time! The 2nd half of 2018 was a terrible period blogging wise and I can only apologise for that! Anyway, it’s a New Year and the plan is to be far more consistent this year with the fire but I’ll also update the 2018 playlist with all the best records from the 3rd & 4th quarter of last year. That aside, let’s get into the new selections for the year!

Future – Jumpin On A Jet

Super Future’s kicked off the New Year in spectacular fashion with his 7th studio album The Wizrd set to be released next week Friday on the 18th. He’s dropped two singles so far in the run up to the album including today’s featured fire tune Jumpin On A Jet which premiered yesterday. Peep the tune below and be sure to check out the album when it drops next week

21 Savage – Out For The Night, Part 2 Ft Travis Scott

21 Savage recently released his stellar 3rd studio album i am>i was last month to rave reviews and it’s subsequently spent two consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. Upon its release, he promised to add in a Travis Scott verse to one of the standout records on the album Out For The Night and he duly delivered with Part 2 this past Friday. Here the fire final product below

Headie One – 18HUNNA Ft. Dave

Drill rapper & current rave of the moment on our indecisive island Headie One premiered his first single of 2019 last week Thursday and it’s quickly garnered over a million views on Youtube & is on course to debut in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart this week. He’s assisted on the record by fellow young beat bully Dave who delivered a stellar 16 as expected including telling his latest girl that they need a 3 week notice period before going their separate ways. I reckon we’ll be getting a Headie One album at some point this year but in the meantime enjoy the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Day: Travis Scott – SICKO MODE Ft. Drake & YG- CANT GET IN KANADA

Today’s Fire tune servings are from two of my favourite rappers out; Travis Scott & YG!

Travis Scott – SICKO MODE Ft. Drake

Travis Scott finally dropped his long-awaited 3rd studio album ASTROWORLD to rave reviews this Friday. The album’s currently slated to move 400,000-500,000 stateside, which gives an indication of the commercial success of the album. Sonically, it’s also a masterpiece in my opinion & deciding on a fire tune to feature from the 17-track album was a bit of a challenge but it just had to be Sicko Mode featuring the 6 god. The tune has three different elements to it starting with a Drake intro & ending with a Tay Keith laced beat providing the backdrop for Drizzy & Travis Scott to go back-to-back and obliterate the record! Listen to the album here & peep the fire tune below

YG – CANT GET IN KANADA

YG also finally released his 3rd studio album STAY DANGEROUS after dropping two classics in My Krazy Life & Still Brazy within the past 5 years. It’s safe to say the Compton native did not disappoint with this project & I expect it to continue to grow in me with every additional listen.  CANT GET IN KANADA is my current favourite hence why it’s today’s featured fire tune. Listen to the album here and listen to the fire tune below

Fire Tune Of The Day: Bas – Boca Raton Ft. A$AP Ferg

Dreamville artist Bas released his first single of the year earlier in the summer titled Boca Raton. The record features A$AP Ferg & it’s a fire tune by all indications. It’s shot straight to the top of my personal playlist and has gotten me excited for Bas’ next project, which will be his first since dropping his criminally underrated Too High To Riot album in 2016. Listen to the fire tune below

Fire Tunes Of The Month

I know, I know, I know! I have disrespected this blog as it’s been over a month since my last month but in my defence, I’ve been ridiculously busy and the greatest show on Earth was on (the World Cup). However, to make up for it, I’m dropping a mega bumper post featuring my fave tunes over the past month, which are essential for your playlists rotation. Due to the sheer volume of the featured songs, I’ll try to keep the background on each song to one or two sentences. Enjoy and my your ears be happy!

Drake – In My Feelings x Mob Ties

Drizzy released his 5th studio album Scorpion earlier in the summer. In My Feelings has turned out to be the summer smash, while Mob Ties is my personal fave from Side A! Enjoy

Beyonce & Jay-Z surprisingly released a 10 track collaborative album EVERYTHING IS LOVE earlier in the summer. APESHIT is my undeniable favourite & a certified summer banger

Mura Masa & Octavian – Move Me

London producer Mura Masa & young London MC Octavian collaborated on this absolutely fire record a few weeks ago. Hearing it live at Lovebox cemented it for me & its shot straight to the top of my personal playlist

Ambush Buzzworl – Jumpy Remix Ft. Chip & Skepta

I peeped the original song off a tweet earlier in the summer & the remix has just taken it to another level. Skepta & Chip came through with a pair of fire 16s for the remix & I hope Ambush can capitalise on the momentum over the coming months

DJ Snake & Niniola – Maradona Riddim

French producer DJ Snake jumped on Niniola’s smash afrobeat record Maradona. I like this remix cause the primary elements of the original song remain but DJ Snake’s beat adds another element to the song that can easily translate to the dance floors on this side of the world

MHD – Bella Ft. Wizkid

French afrotrap superstar MHD joined forces with the original Nigerian superstar starboy Wizkid and the resulting song is glorious. Listen below

BROCKHAMPTON – 1999 WILDFIRE

All Indications point to a new BROCKHAMPTON LP release in the horizon as they’ve dropped back-to-back-to-back singles over the past 3 Fridays. 1999 WILDFIRE was the first of the 3 releases & I honestly love this song so much

Avelino – Boasy Ft. Not3s

I initially slept on this when it was released but its probably currently my favourite record of the summer excluding all the Drizzy bangers. Not3s delivers a fire hook & 16 as expected and Avelino also shines on this one

UK rapper Headie One released his mixtape The One Two just over a fortnight ago & its an impressive body of work. This Week featuring Yxng Bane is the standout record for me by a country mile

Not3s – Tuggyszn (Interlude)

UK rapper/singer Not3s has been on an unprecedented wave for the best part of 18 months culminating in the release of Take Notes 2 a fortnight ago. I love all 9 songs off the LP so choosing a feature song was a difficult one but Tuggyszn is a worthy choice

Justin Timberlake’s latest album dropped earlier this year & it surprisingly flopped. However, he’s already on his bounce back vibe and SoulMate is a great start

Jaden Smith continues to flourish as time goes by & GHOST adds to his collection of fire records. The beat on this is something else & his flow just takes it home!

One of my favourite rappers of the past 5/6 years 2 Chainz dropped the lead single Bigger Than You featuring my fellow faves Drake & Quavo and its one hell of a bop! The song’s currently slightly slept on in my opinion but I expect it to be a slow burner that eventually grows on everyone

Fire Tunes Of The Day Featuring Tory Lanez, Jorja Smith, One Acen, Future & KIDS SEE GHOSTS

Back with another round of the finest tunes that dropped over the past week!

Tory Lanez – Pa Mi (with Ozuna)

Clearly not content with the success of his 2018 sophomore album Memories Don’t Die, Tory Lanez is back with an absolute monster of a record featuring latin trap superstar Ozuna. I don’t know what it is but I’ve seen myself love latin records more & more with each listen (my parents say I’ve been fascinated by the language since I was 7 years old) and Pa Mi continues the trend nicely. The hook is really the winner here but its one hell of a fire tune that everyone needs to check out. Listen to the banger below

Jorja Smith – On Your Own

British singer Jorja Smith released her debut album Lost & Found this Friday to rave reviews so far. I know it’s early days but it’s easily one of my favourite LPs of the year & the record hasn’t even been out for a week. Deciding on a fire tune from the album was a job in itself as Wandering Romance & The One were also in contention but I decided to go with my current favourite On Your Own. I honestly have no words to describe how amazing the song is, so listen to the LP here &  press play on the FTOD below

One Acen – EIO Ft. Hardy Caprio

You know summer’s around the corner when there’s a new banger from One Acen & Hardy Caprio. Both artists have seen their stars steadily grow over the past two years with the constant release of fire tracks. EIO serves as yet another catchy banger, which I expect to translate nicely unto dance-floors throughout the summer & beyond. I’ve had a hard time getting it out of my head over the past few days for a reason; find out below

Future – Tie My Shoes Ft. Young Thug

The soundtrack album for the soon-to-be-released SUPERFLY movie dropped this past Friday & was curated by Atlanta superstar Future. The 13 track album sees Future feature on ten records & if you exclude the R&B records, it sounds like a dope Future mixtape in all honestly. My current favourite has to be Tie My Shoes featuring fellow sauce-god Young Thug. Check out the soundtrack album herelisten to the featured FTOD below

KIDS SEE GHOSTS (Kanye West & Kid Cudi) – 4th Dimension Ft. Louis Prima

Kanye West dropped off the latest 7-track album KIDS SEE GHOSTS from G.O.O.D Music this past Friday following Daytona & Ye. It’s the 2nd best project of the releases so far behind Daytona, which is in a league of its own. It’s a collaboration album between Kanye West & long-time collaborator/former signee/on-and-off friend Kid Cudi. The production on the record is phenomenal as we’ve seen on both previously released albums but the bars are good at best in my opinion. Either way, the standout record for me is 4th Dimension featuring Louis Prima, which is just an all-round great song to vibe to. Listen to the album here & check out the featured tune below
